TC Entertainment is digging into their back catalog a bit more with the reveal that they’re bringing Ginga Senpuu Braiger to Blu-ray. The series is getting two Blu-ray box sets priced at 20,000 yen each that will arrive on December 22nd, 2017 and January 26th, 2018 respectively and now we have a look at the packaging covers for both sets. It looks like these may be upscales based n the wording and coming from what was used for the DVDs which doesn’t look like it’ll offer much hope for an already mediocre at best looking show. Extras for the sets include the previews and clean opening sequences.
Originally airing in 1981, the series was directed by Takao Yotsuji based on the series composition by Yu Yamamoto. Kazuo Komatsubara handled the character designs with Kokusai Eigasha handling the production.
Plot Concept: In the year 2111, the solar system has been colonized. The colonized moons and planets are lawless and the police are helpless. In order to battle the evil within the solar system, Isaac Godonov creates J9, made up of himself, Blaster Kid, Stephen Bowie, and Angel Omachi. They are a team that will handle any missions the police will not with their robot Braiger… for a price. Meanwhile, the Nubia section of Earth has a plan to destroy Jupiter to create 30 more planets for human colonization. But this plan will result in the destruction of Earth.
