The summer 2017 anime adaptation of the novel DIVE!! is underway and it’s getting its streaming through Anime Strike. With the eighth episode queued up for an August 23rd, 2017 debut in Japan, the noitaminA channel has dropped a preview of it that shows off the animation, character designs, and some of the overall styling to it. The original novel comes from Eto Mori, the creator behind Colorful. Originally running for four volumes back in the early 2000′s, the adaptation will be directed by Kaoru Suzuki based on the scripts by Touko Machida. Suzuhito Yasuda is handling the character designs and it’s being animated by ZERO-G.
The Japanese cast includes Takahiro Sakurai as Youichi Fujitani, Yuuichi Nakamura as Shibuki Okitsu, Kaori Nazuka as Kayoko Asaki, Ryota Osaka as Ryou Oohiro, Kouki Uchiyama as Reiji Maruyama, Yuusuke Kobayashi as Sachiyo Yoshida, and Tomokazu Sugita as Atsuhiko Yamada, Kensho Ono as Kiyotaka Matsuno, Shouta Aoi as Toshihiko Tsuji, Kengo Kawanishi as Jirou Hirayama, Ryouhei Kimura as Hiroya Sakai, Rina Hidaka as Miyu Nomura, Katsuyuki Konishi as Keisuke Fujitani, Wataru Hatano as Chikara Oojima.
Plot Concept: The series revolves around the Mizuki Diving Club (MDC), which is on the verge of closing down after having financial troubles. The club’s new coach persuades the club’s parent company to stay open on one condition: that the club sends one of its members to next year’s Olympics as part of Japan’s Olympic team.
