The first feature film for No Game No Life landed in Japan on July 15th, 2017 but it looks like it’s about to come back for a new run very soon. The film is getting done up for a 4DX screening in 48 theaters in the country on September 9th, 2017 as a limited event. We’ve touched on some other recent 4DX screenings in the last few years in how they work some motion and other effects to make you feel more in the moment.
The theatrical anime feature that will work to adapt the sixth volume of the light novel series. That novel came out from Yen Press back on January 24th, 2017 for a release date. The premise for it is, “One fateful day, the One True God Tet collapsed from hunger in the back alleys of Elche, only to be saved by Izuna. Tet recounts a story from 6000 years ago, about the Great War” that divided the heavens and tore the earth asunder. About the man who challenged the world and the girl who stayed by his side.”
The anime adaptation comes from original creator Yuu Kamiya and is directed by Atsuko Ishizuka (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, NANA) with story composition by Jukki Hanada (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, Beyond the Boundary), art direction by Eiji Iwase (Campione!, Divergence Eve) and animation production by Madhouse Studios (Highschool of the Dead, BTOOOM!).
The Japanese cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Riku, Ai Kayano as Shuvi, Yōko Hikasa as Corone Dora, Yukari Tamura as Jibril, Yuka Iguchi as Nonna Zell, Mamiko Noto as Shinku Nilvalen, Miyuki Sawashiro as Izuna Hatsuse and Rie Kugimiya as Teto.
