What They Say:
Remember the time Deadpool went a little TOO crazy and killed the entire Marvel Universe? Well, this isn’t that. This is a DIFFERENT time. Writer Cullen Bunn and artist Dalibor Talajic (A.K.A. the creators behind DEADPOOL KILLS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE) have reunited for ANOTHER tale of Deadpool taking out all of your faves in the most horrific ways possible! It’s gonna hurt him more than it hurts you…and you’re gonna love it!

Content: (warning, content section may contain spoilers.)
The original Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe was great fun and had its title character do what he does best in spades: shatter the fourth wall.  We’re in for a different spin on the concept this time around.  after showing us that long ignored X-Man Gambit has bitten the dust, we proceed into the book’s real start with Deadpool and the Uncanny Avengers against M.O.D.O.K.  The action is done well and quickly becomes silly in typical Deadpool style.  Things get more serious right away though, along with a growing sense that something isn’t right.

Deadpool hasn’t attacked bad guys at all.  The reality is much worse.  Deadpool’s been entranced by someone, and that someone wants heroes dead.  This isn’t a new concept, but the book pulls the concept into some new ground here.  and a simple key phrase seems to be the trigger for Deadpool’s new aggression.  Things have also definitely ramped up in this one, with Wade going after big targets right off the bat.  The issue never spends much time in one place, usually only doing so to show a message or more dead bodies.  Deadpool is working fast, and he’s seemingly got a ton of targets.  Who are the ones behind this new universal threat?  The issue decides to let us I on that fact for better or worse: Red Skull, Dr. Doom, Abomination,  and Magneto have commandeered our fourth wall breaking friend.  This is a concept that could be good or bad, but this content shows that it’s going well so far, with Deadpool seeing this in a much brighter, sillier sense than others.  The others are slowly realizing the threat Wade Wilson poses, and it is quite fun seeing Wade himself not realize this at all.

In Summary:
Deadpool has committed multiple Deicide, and we’re just getting started!  Our only drawback so far is that Deadpool really isn’t in control of himself totally.  Our group of villains has hijacked the wise-cracking mutant, and that’s what makes this attempt to kill the Marvel Universe different.  Deadpool’s a hit-man this time around, and who knows how or who he’ll be after next.  The tone is both one of humor and despair.  The dialogue fits the characters, and Wade’s hallucinations are absolutely hilarious and in character for him.  The art is a mix of bright and colorful, but switches to more dark and subdued for the real world scenes.  The writing is actually pretty good for a current Marvel story, and everything flows well.  I can’t help but think that group of villains shown at the end will be important later, but as part of the death count or true masterminds, I cannot say yet.  Things will get more fun as things go even more horribly wrong, and this team seems set to deliver that here.
