‘Knight’s & Magic’ Anime Expands Cast, Sets Premiere With New Promo

Knights & Magic VisualWe learned about the anime adaptation of the light novel series Knights & Magic back in September with the release of the first compiled volume of the manga. The show was set for a summer 2017 debut and now the arrival of the second promotional video has revealed a July 2nd, 2017 debut on AT-X. We also got some new cast information along the way as well! The series is being directed by Yuusuke Yamamoto based on the series composition by Michiko Yokote. Kenichiro Katsura is on board as the character designer with studio 8bit handling the animation production.

The newly announced cast includes:

  • Yasuaki Takumi as Edgar C Blanche
  • Kazuyuki Okitsu as Dietrich Cunitz
  • Shizuka Itou as Helvi Overlay

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Rie Takahashi as Ernesti Echevarria
  • Ayaka Ohashi as Adeltrud Olter
  • Shinsuke Sugawara as Archid Olter

The light novels come from Hisago Amazaek-no with illustrations by Kurogin and it began under the Hero Bunko label back in 2013. With six volumes released so far and a manga adaptation from Takuji Katou, well, all signs were pointing to potential anime adaptation for a bit.

Plot Concept: A mecha otaku is reincarnated into another world as Ernesti Echevarria, also known as Eru. In this world, huge humanoid weapons known as Silhouette Knights exist. Dreaming of piloting those robots, Eru and his friends, Archid Olter and Adeltrud Olter, aim to become Knight Runners.
