‘Black Lightning’ Debuts Pilot Episode Series Trailer

2 min read

Black Lightning VisualWith a series order given previously and slated for the next season on The CW, the upfronts from the network has now produced the first trailer for Black Lightning. Working just from material from the pilot itself, which are always a bit rough because of the by-committee nature of it all, the series is getting a midseason premiere in early 2018. That means it will not be a part of the fall crossover event on The CW and it’s also been revealed that it’s not a part of the Arrowverse proper, similar to Supergirl that takes place on its own parallel Earth. At the same time, that means there are ways to fudge that down the line.

The series stars Cress Williams, Nafessa Williams, China Anne McClain and Christine Adams

Plot concept: Jefferson Pierce is a man wrestling with a secret. Nine years ago, Pierce was gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, which he used to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life and his family on the line, he left his Super Hero days behind. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, Black Lightning returns — to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.
