We learned earlier this month that Funimation has lined up another Crunchyroll property for release with KanColle as it’s been solicited for a June 27th, 2017 release as a DVD/BD combo pack. The release is also going to be done in bilingual form and now the first casting announcements have arrived for it! The first wave of casting reveals has Felecia Angelle as Fubuki, Leah Clark as Yuudachi, and Cherami Leigh as Mutsuki.
The series was animated at studio Diomedea with Keizo Kusakawa directing based on scripts by Jukki Hanada. Character designs are done by Naomi Ide and Mayuko Matsumoto, who also served as the chief animation directors. The show stars Sumire Uesaka as Fubuki, Saki Fujita as Akagi, and Yuka Iguchi as Kaga.
Plot concept: Set in a world where humanity has lost control of the oceans to the “deep sea fleet,” the only hope to counter this threat are the Kanmusu, a group of girls who possess the spirit of Japanese warships. The story revolves around Fubuki, a destroyer who comes to the Chinjufu base to train with other Kanmusu. Watch as their stories unfold!
