Seventh ‘Saga of Tanya the Evil’ Anime Episode Previewed

Yojo Senki Episode 7The anime adaptation for the Yojo Senki, aka Saga of Tanya the Evil, is moving right along with its broadcast and now Kadokawa is getting a bit more promotion out there for it. Ahead of the seventh episode on February 24th, 2017, they’ve got a new thirty-second promo out for it that’s continuing to paint an interesting picture of the show. The series is being simulcast by Crunchyroll where it’s got great availability as it’s open to members worldwide outside of Asia.

Funimation is producing a SimulDub for it on their service as well.

Yutaka Uemura on board to direct with Kana Harufuji as the assistant director working from the scripts by Kenta Ihara. Yuuji Hosogoshi is on board as the character designer and chief animation director with studio NUT producing the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Aoi Yuki as Tanya Degurechov, Saori Hayami as Visha, Shinichiro Miki as Relgen, Houchou Ootsuka as Seetour and Tessyo Genda as Ludeldorf.

The show is based on the light novel series from writer Carlo Zen and artist Shinobu Shinotsuki that began in 2013 and has six volumes to its name so far. The title translates as The Military Chronicles of a Little Girl.

MYTH&ROID will be performing the opening theme song with “JINGO JUNGLE” as they noted that the CD single will drop on February 8th, 2017.

Plot concept: It is June of the year CE 1923. A young girl with blond hair and blue eyes, Tanya Degurechaff, has entered the final curriculum of the Imperial Military Academy and is training at the third patrol line in the northern military district, the Norden Theater, as part of her service to the force. Her training, the first step toward a brilliant career as an aviation mage, should have gone off without a hitch… but things took an unexpected turn. War broke out between the Empire and the neighboring Federation committed a border transgression in entering the Empire. During the transition into wartime, she was assigned to observation duty, but a surprise attack by the Federation forces Tanya to engage in battle with the Federation’s mage troops. She’s greatly outnumbered with no chance of waiting for allies to arrive, but if she tries to flee, she’ll be charged with the capital crime of deserting under enemy fire. In order to survive and convince the top brass that she did the best she possibly could, Tanya enacts a certain strategy…
