With word back in 2015 that a new animated series for Castlevania was being put into the works, it looks like something is definitely happening. Netflix revealed during a press event that a Castlevania series is coming as a Season 1 Part 1 listing showed up with plans for it to hit the service this year. The news was a bit buried amid information about shows such as The OA, Traveler, and Love getting new seasons renewals.
The show is listed as being a four-part series with thirty minute episodes with Warren Ellis writing. The second season will hit in 2018.
Plot concept: Castlevania will focus on the game franchise’s Belmont clan, as it follows “the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself.”
