What They Say:
From Hollywood’s darkest shadows, an old enemy rises to extract revenge on Faith! A superhero’s work is never done…and, now, one of Faith’s former adversaries has returned for a fateful rematch that will put the life of Los Angeles’ greatest hero into a tailspin. And when this familiar assailant finally shows their true face, will the high flying psiot have the strength to put them down for good?

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
Faith continues to be haunted by spirits and calls her friend Paige to her apartment. Paige freaks out and Faith admits she didn’t think Paige would see them at all. She goes on to ask Paige what she did to deserve to be haunted.

Paige calls her an idiot as Faith reveals she believes she did not live up to her friends and family’s expectations. Paige reminds Faith that she is the one that naturally believes in the good of humans, not her. However, she does tell Faith that she thinks Faith is needed because she does care.

Feeling more confident, Faith confronts the ghosts. She takes Paige by the hand and tries to see if the ghosts are a physical threat or all talk. Faith notices something shining on the floor and it’s a projector. Faith rounds up the projectors and with a little help from her friends tracks down the source of the projectors.

She breaks through the window of someone she recognizes as the Janitor from Zipline. The guy is a voice actor too, but he isn’t working alone. Sidney Pierce, Faith’s ex-boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend, is also involved. Sidney feels Faith is the source of all her problems and wants Faith to own up to it. Faith reminds her it was her that kidnapped her boyfriend and gave him an alien murder cult.

Sidney doesn’t want to be reminded of her past mistakes and orders the janitor shoot her. He misses, but begs Sidney that he will do anything for her. So, she pushes the janitor out the window. Faith saves him, but ultimately hands him over to the authorities.

She sees her run in with Sidney as a wake up call that she does need to face her past. She understands she can’t really start over or reboot her life, but that her life is constantly moving forward. Faith also sees that the past isn’t something that will always haunt you, but that good memories are there too.

The story wraps up with Sidney Pierce meeting Chris Chriswell. There definitely can’t be anything good about the two of them getting together.

In Summary:
My favorite line in this issue was the reference to Supernatural. I truly respect Jody Houser’s ability to tap into every fandom. Though this issue had a more serious tone to it, she still keeps those fun little things weaved into the story.

I truly appreciate the blend of wisdom and geeky vibes. It’s so different than any other superhero comic, and that’s what makes it special. As always, this is a winner. Please check it out!
