Viz Media Sets ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ Digital Manga Sale

2 min read

Yugioh Volume 1 CoverViz Media has kicked off their latest series/franchise specific sale on ComiXology with the Yu-Gi-Oh! property getting the nod. The sale brings the complete thirty-eight volume run of the manga from Kazuki Takahashi down to a pretty good price where the normally $9.99 print volumes are now on sale for $4.99 digitally. And when you factor in the space savings on your shelf from not having that many volumes there – plus the portability of it all – it’s definitely a pretty good deal.

The original series ran from 1996 to 2004 as serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and it went through a couple of names along the way, with Duelist and Millennium added as a subtitle for it. The property spawned a plethora of anime series and films over the years as well.

Plot concept: The Millennium Puzzle Sitting by himself in the back of the class, 10th-grader Yugi always had his head in some game–until he solved the Millennium Puzzle, an Egyptian artifact containing a powerful spirit from the age of the pharoahs! Awakened after three thousand years, the King of Games possesses Yugi, recklessly challenging bullies and evildoers to the Shadow Games, where the stakes are high, and even the most ordinary bet may result in weirdness and danger beyond belief! Let the games…begin!
