eldlive-crunchyroll-headerFunimation has expanded their SimulDub plans for the winter 2017 season as they’ve now added the elDLIVE series to the schedule. While the casting has not been revealed yet, the show will debut on January 26th, 2017 at 8:00 pm ET for members of their streaming service. New episodes will go live weekly at the same time.

Takeshi Furuya is directing the show based on the series composition by Toshimitsu Takeuchi. The manga is a part of the Shonen Jump+ app and has a pretty decent sized audience that they’re hoping will make the leap to this when it arrives in the winter 2017 season.

The Japanese cast includes Ayumu Murase asChuuta Kokonose, Saori Hayami as MisuzuSonokata, Rie Kugumiya as Doru, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Lane Brick, Daiki Kobayashi as Assistant Inspector Chips, Riho Iida as Veronica, Lynn as Ninochika, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Dr. Love, Eriko Matsui as Tonto, Kenichirou Matsuda as Riggs, Akiko Kimura as Aunt Mimi, Akio Suyama as Tateyan, Minami Takahashi as Maclane, Masaaki Ihara as Melies and Tomotaka Hachisuka as Geronimo.

The series will have some solid performers on board with Alfakyun handling the opening theme song while The Super Ball is performing the ending theme song.

The manga, which got a brief run here in 2014 from the Jump Start initiative with the first three chapters, has five volumes out as of this past spring and the anime adaptation will land in 2017 from Studio Pierrot.

Plot concept: “Mumbling” Chuta Kokonose doesn’t have many friends. In fact, the only conversations he has anymore are with voices inside his head. Little does he know that this voice doesn’t mean he’s crazy. It just means he has an alien living inside his body!
