Second ‘Chain Chronicle’ Anime Feature Debuts First Trailer

chain-chronicleWe last got our first look at the anime adaptation of the Chain Chronicle game back in November just a few weeks ahead of the debut of the first film on December 3rd, 2016. Now that that film is out in theaters, promotion has kicked in for the second film due out next month and we’ve now got the first trailer for it. The second film is set for release on January 14th, 2017, and the third on February 11th, 2017, which makes it look like a spring 2017 debut for the TV series.

The feature films, whose length has not been revealed, will be directed by Masashi Kudou with assistance from Hirokazu Hanai. They’re working on the screenplay by Touko machida with Kudo handling the character designs as well. Telecom Animation Film and Graphinica are handling the animation.

We previously had the short-form series and the announcement of a regular TV series and then the official site for the project revealed that ahead of the TV series there will be a movie trilogy in theaters for a limited engagement of two weeks per screening.

With an eight-episode run of Chain Chronicle in its short-form adaptation in the fall 0f 2015, they were directed by Takeshi Mori at Sotsu and Jumonji studios based on the scripts by QUALIA, the name of the group that wrong the original game scenario and the drama CD that came out previously. The series characters were designed by Hiromi Kato.
