The 2009 GoHands studio series Princess Lover! previously saw release as a Blu-ray box set back in 2011, which ran a fairly standard 28,000 yen for the twelve episode run. Media Factory recently revealed that they’re bringing the show out again for a limited time through December 2017 as a priced-down single disc release priced at 9,000 yen. Scheduled for a December 2nd, 2016 debut in Japan, the full series is getting the single disc design with no extras listed on it while reinforcing that it will be in full HD 1080p quality. And we finally have the cover artwork for it now that it’s released and obviously finalized that you can see below.
Originally airing in the summer of 2009, the show was directed by Hiromitsu Kanazawa based on the series composition by Makoto Nakamura. Shingo Suzuki handled the character designs and it was produced at GoHands. The Japanese cast includes Takuma Terashima as Teppei Arima, Emiri Katō as Seika Houjouin, Juurouta Kosugi as Hartmann Bezelheim, Kaoru Mizuhara as Erika Takesono, Kaya Miyake as Maria van Hossen, Megumi Toyoguchi as Sylvia van Hossen, Minoru Shiraishi as Haruhiko Nezu, Norio Wakamoto as Isshin Arima, Nozomi Sasaki as Ayano Kaneko, Ryoka Yuzuki as Charlotte Hazellink, Takehito Koyasu as Vincent, Yousuke Akimoto as Alfred and Yuki Matsuoka as Yuu Fujikura.
It has not seen overseas licensing outside of a Taiwanese pickup.
Plot concept: Following an automobile accident that claims the life of his parents, Teppei Arima is taken in by his grandfather and introduced to the world of the rich and the elite. Compared to his humble upbringing, Isshin Arima’s lavish lifestyle surprises and stuns the young teenager. In return for the gracious hospitality, Teppei is expected to continue the family business by replacing his grandfather as the head of Arima Financial Combine, and to prepare him for these responsibilities, he is enrolled into an esteemed high school. Along with his recently acquired celebrity status and affluence, Teppei is informed of an arranged marriage with the equally prosperous Sylvia van Hossen, thus, beginning the thrilling escapades of his new life!
