strike-the-blood-cdWe’ve gotten a fair bit of material so far about the upcoming second OVA series for the Strike the Blood and now the folks at Warner Bros. Japan are digging into something a little different. With the release coming up, they’ve brought out the fourth promotional video that looks at the character album CD that’s landing on November 23rd, 2016. This one comes in at about 110-seconds and takes a look at the fourth song on the release, “Raspberry Lovers”, and the CD itself will have seven tracks to it overall and will retail for 2,500 yen.

The project is set to have four releases that will have two episodes per volume while including extras such as the clean opening and closing and a booklet with an original story and some original manga with it. The arc is set to cover the ninth volume of the series involving a resort facility adventure for the main characters and presumably moving on from there with more material from later volumes.

The schedule is for the first one to arrive on November 23rd, the second on December 21st, the third on March 29th, and then the fourth and final on April 26th. The cast and staff from the TV series are returning to animate it.

The property is based off the light novels of the same name by Gakuto Mikumo with artwork by Manyako, which began in 2011 and has fifteen volumes to date. A manga adaptation began in 2012 summer that’s progressing slowly with artwork be Tate.

The cast includes Yoshimasa Hosoya as Kojō Akatsuki, Rise Taneda as Yukino Himeragi, Asami Seto as Asagi Aiba, Rina Hidaka as Nagisa Akatsuki, Ryota Ohsaka as Motoki Yaze and Hisako Kanemoto as Natsuki Minamiya.

The TV series and first OVA series had Hideyo Yamamoto directing based off of scripts by Hiroyuki Yoshino with character designs by Keiichi Sano. Discotek Media has picked up the home video rights for the show in North America.

Plot Concept: The Fourth Primogenitor—That’s the world’s strongest vampire that should only exist in legends. Accompanied by twelve Kenjuu and spreading calamity, this phantom vampire appeared in Japan. For the observation and obliteration of this Fourth Primogenitor, the government and Lion King decided to dispatch an attack mage known as a Sword Shaman. However, for some reason, the one chosen for the observation was a apprentice Sword Shaman girl, Himegari Yukina. Wielding the strongest anti-primogenitor spirit spear, Yukina arrived at Demon District, Itogami City. What is the true identity of the Fourth Primogenitor, Akatsuki Kojou, she encountered over there!?
