Funimation Streams Partial Kazuki Akane ‘Escaflowne’ Anime Interview

Escaflowne Kazuki AkaneWith the upcoming big project from Funimation with the newly dubbed Vision of Escaflowne TV series and theatrical anime film just about a week away, Funimation is doing a bit more to get fans excited. Set to debut on October 18th, 2016, they’ve now brought out a new short clip interview with creator Kazuki Akane talking about the project when it was first being worked on. It’s just over two minutes or so overall but the full interview is set for twenty minutes on the set itself.

The new English dub cast includes Aaron Dismuke as Van Fanel, Caitlin Glass as Hitomi, Alexis Tipton as Merle, Sonny Strait as Allen Schezar, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Millerna, Eric Vale as Dryden, Vic Mignogna as Folken, Felecia Angelle as Eriya, Michelle Rojas as Naria, Jeremy Schwartz as Dornkirk, Chris Guerrero as Balgus, Bryn Apprill as Chid, Chris Cason as Shesta, Chuck Hüber as Jajuka and Ian Sinclair as Gaddess.

Plot concept: High school student Hitomi is transported from Earth to the magical world of Gaea, where she meets boy prince Van Fanel, and is caught up in his quest to unite the countries of Gaea against the ominous Zaibach empire. On the way, she discovers a hidden ability and strives to unravel layers of mystery surrounding Van, his past, and the giant machine known as Escaflowne.
