do-you-know-the-milfing-man-coverIn Japan, you either live alone as your parents died or moved away or you spend your time seducing one of them.

What They Say
When his mother dies and his father remarries, Kaito takes a shine to his sexy new stepmother, Sayoko. Driven mad with lust, Kaito is soon spying on her and sneaking into her bedroom for some covert late-night action. Though racked with guilt, Sayoko eventually finds herself a willing participant. And when Kaito tells her that his father is cheating on her with a younger woman, theirs becomes a full-fledged affair. The sex, sin and betrayal will turn Kaito’s whole household upside down!

The Review:
Audio:
The audio presentation for this release brings us the original Japanese language track in stereo, both of which are encoded at 192kbps. What would be even better is if they could properly label them instead of listing each of them as “other.” The two tracks included here are done at a fairly basic 192 kbps but for the content and how it is used it doesn’t impact it too much. There isn’t much to hear here beyond dialogue and some mild ambient music so the stereo mix is very much a simple center channel piece along the forward soundstage. Dialogue is clean and clear throughout on both tracks and we had no problems with dropouts or distortions during regular playback.

Video:
Originally released in 2006, the transfer for this two part OVA series is presented in its original full frame aspect ratio. Keeping to real world colors with straightforward simple backgrounds, there isn’t a lot to really say here as it’s a competent looking piece of work that the authoring has captured. Colors are generally clean and problem free though there is some visible noise in various backgrounds. The only area that really gives some trouble are certain night time sequences where the use of shadows creates a bit more of a grainy/noisy look. Gradients are decent and don’t draw too heavily in regards to blocking and there’s very little in terms of cross coloration or aliasing. It isn’t a standout looking release but it gets the job done well enough.

Packaging:
The cover design is certainly simple but effective enough as it features Sayo with her clothes coming off of her against a red backdrop. The character design is appealing but it’s the title itself that just makes you laugh and actually take a closer look at it. The back cover provides a few shots from the show, though without any explicit material of course, along with a basic summary of what the story is all about. Minimal production credits and warnings round out the bottom along with a good technical grid covering the specs of the release. No insert is included nor is there a reversible cover.

Menu:
Not unlike every other Kitty release out there, the menu design takes the cover elements and reworks them a little bit by showing the nudity and adding a navigation strip to it. Colors look a bit more vibrant and bold and along with some music it has a fun feeling to it. There isn’t really anything here beyond the show and some trailers so moving about is quick and easy and problem free. Our player presets were basically a bit of a joke with this due to the improper labeling of the tracks as well as order placement. The audio tracks are both listed as “other” while the two subtitle tracks are listed as English and that has the sign/song subtitle track as the first one.

Extras:
None.

Adult anime material is something that is typically amusing to watch, even when it’s not meant to be. When you watch as much of it as I do, or any anime in general, you notice a lot of trends that are somewhat silly. In regular anime, it’s not surprising that someone is living on their own, either because their parents died or the kid moved out to go to school somewhere. With adult anime, there is that as well but sometimes you have the kids who just want to screw their parents in some way.

With a title like Do You Know the MILFing Man?, it’s pretty apparent which direction you’re going to go here. Ever since the term MILF entered the realm of popular slang, it’s been used heavily but hasn’t hit the anime side too much yet. This title, of which I wish Kitty would at least translate properly within the show, is a two part story in which a young man has it hard for his mother. At least this time around she’s his stepmother and not his real mother. Kaito has grown up knowing mostly just this woman since his father remarried some years ago but she’s still a fairly young woman who has plenty of needs. Those needs aren’t being properly served by her husband who himself is off fooling around with another woman.

Kaito really has a thing for her, enough so that he’s watched her and his father have sex together and stolen some of her panties so he can get closer to her scent. Sayo is completely unaware of this and is just trying to convince her husband to have a child with her, something that they talked about awhile ago but he no longer has much interest in. The more Kaito sees her treated this way the more he wants to be the one to rescue her and give her what she needs. That puts him in some embarrassing situations but how can you not love it when he goes to a friends place to commiserate, she ends up seducing him into bed to give him the experience he needs for his mother. Now that is womanly understanding on a new level.

Once the deed is done everything starts to spiral between Kaito and Sayo. Kaito is surprisingly daring right from the start considering he was embarrassed to be seen holding a pair of her panties at first. That he goes from that to having sex with her in her bed while his father is asleep next to them certainly qualifies as daring. Sayo for her part does try to fend him off at first but her need for real pleasure overrides her throughout the show. One scene has them in the shower and she continually protests at what he’s done, but once he tells her to turn around she’s completely willing and ready to go. The pair do get things on repeatedly and Kaito is one of the luckiest young men in the world as he moves ably between various how mothers and women.

What is it with the hottest women always being the ones with green hair however? The character designs for the show are fairly average though at least done with realistic proportions for just about everyone. Sayo is decently done if a bit plain and “housewife-y” while the coffee shop owner Nao has a bit of a rougher edge to her with the day-glo pink hair. The most amusing one however is Takumi’s mother, the head of the PTA, who with her green hair and glasses really hits all the right notes as she lusts after her own son and mistakes Kaito for him. My only real disappointment with the show in terms of its design though comes from a couple of very brief moments of re-used animation which is generally not done with adult anime outside of some very cheap and whorish shows that never get out of the gutter.

In Summary:
I have to say that I don’t know the MILFing man but I certainly wouldn’t mind being him. Maybe it’s a perspective thing depending on where you are in your life in who find attractive but my tastes have certainly changed over the years as I mingle with far different crowds. This two-part story plays up a rather traditional coming of age thought process among some guys, though more often with friends mothers than their own, and hits all the standard notes when it comes to adult anime material. There isn’t anything that really stands out here but it’s a competent piece that has some good moments to it that will titillate. It’s likely best suited for people newer to adult material that are looking to expand their horizons or those that fall into the particular fetishes used within.
