What They Say
Although Nao Kagure was once afraid of the delinquent Taiga Onise, she was soon touched by his kind soul. Nao and Taiga have been dating for two months, but Taiga’s best friend, Ayaha Futami, decides he wants to steal Nao away, and he’s not making a secret of it!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
The charm of Honey So Sweet intensifies as a rival for Nao comes into the picture. Taiga’s best friend, Futami, isn’t scared to let both Taiga and Nao know what he’s after in both subtle and not so subtle ways.

This puts a strain on everyone, but they all have Taiga and Nao’s back with support and advice. Even Nao’s uncle dishes out a few words of encouragement. The climax of the story takes place on the school roof when Taiga announces to Futami that he can’t hate him and wants to be friends even though he is fully aware of what Futami is after.

This leaves the story on a happy note, but a bittersweet one. Taiga and Nao remain together and in love, but Futami is left yearning for something he can’t have. The fight for Nao may not be over yet.

In Summary
This manga remains consistent in using tried and true events and situations such as the use of a rival and a big event at school, in this case Sports Day. Nothing in this manga is a surprise, but it remains just as it intends to be, adorable.

What is good about this volume is that Nao and Taiga are a couple. It’s pleasant to simply enjoy watching them figure out how to be a couple. Though this might seem like the two of them might be at their most vulnerable, they show exactly how strong their relationship is while keeping their friends close.

I continue to like this manga for pure enjoyment only. I know I won’t get any surprises, but I do know I’ll be guaranteed to say, “Awww.” at least a dozen times. And some days, I need that more than anything else.
