‘Hunter x Hunter’ Manga Enters Hiatus Again

2 min read

Hunter X Hunter Volume 33 CoverChronic pain is nothing to laugh at in the slightest and as we’ve seen from past instances with Hunter x Hunter creator Yoshihiro Togashi, it’s pretty crippling with what it does to him and how his work just makes it worse. Togashi has put the work on indefinite hiatus once again after returning to it this past April, which produced material to generate the 33rd volume compilation that landed over a million sales in just over the first week of hitting shelves. Since it was the first volume released since 2012, after the creator went into hiatus in 2014, it was definitely welcome to see the book as well received as it was.

Weekly Shonen Jump will announce in the future when they know that the series will get underway again and until then we also extend our hopes that Togashi finds relief from what ails him.

Viz Media has been releasing the series in North America and they caught up in the spring of 2014. It’s likely we’ll see this release hit an English translation possibly by the end of this year to try and ride the upcoming anime release.

Plot concept: Hunters are a special breed, dedicated to tracking down treasures, magical beasts, and even other men. But such pursuits require a license, and less than one in a hundred thousand can pass the grueling qualification exam. Those who do pass gain access to restricted areas, amazing stores of information, and the right to call themselves Hunters.
