MVM Entertainment Schedules ’11 Eyes’ UK Anime Release

2 min read

11 Eyes CoverThe folks at MVM Entertainment announced their acquisition of the 11 Eyes anime property at the MCM London event back at the end of May and now they’re getting their ducks in a row with it. Mirroring what the US release from Sentai Filmworks is like, the show is getting a DVD-only release on September 19th, 2016 that will have the full twelve episode run plus OVA in its original Japanese language with English subtitles. No extras are detailed for it yet but we’re not expecting much beyond the clean opening and closing sequences.

Based on the property that started off as an adult visual novel that then went to the console world, 11Eyes is a twelve episode series with a non-continuity OVA that came out in the fall of 2009 alongside a three volume manga run. The series was directed by Masami Shimoda at Dogakobo.

Plot concept: Raised in an orphanage after witnessing his sister’s suicide, Satsuki Kakeru’s life has already been dark and cruel enough. When he and his friend Yuka are thrown into a alternate dimension called the Red Night, it takes a gruesome turn from bad to horrific. Now, trapped flickering between our world and the Red, Kakeru quickly discovers that he and Yuka are not alone, and that, together with the other so-called “fragments,” they must defeat the malevolent entities known as the Black Knights.

Facing monsters from beyond imagination and at the center of a deadly hunt, Kakeru’s only chance of saving their lives now hinges on finding the power buried within himself and unraveling the mystery of his own origins and family… if he can survive long enough to do it! The horrors of the Red Night are just the beginning of the nightmare as shocking truths are exhumed!
