2 min read

Ange Vierge Visual 5-17It’s been a mostly quiet and somewhat uneventful run in terms of marketing for the upcoming summer 2016 anime series Ange Vierge and now that we’re close to the premiere a little more has surfaced. The latest comes in the form of the first TV spot for the series which highlights the opening theme song by Konomi Suzuki. The series will premiere on July 9th, 2016 on Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto and TV Aichi before moving on to other broadcasters in the next few days. Animated by Silver Link, the show will be directed by Masafumi Tamura as his debut. He’s also working on the character designs for the series while Katsuhiko Takayama is working on the series composition.

The previously revealed cast includes Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Nya Lapucea, Yumi Hara as Almaria, Aki Toyosaki as Elel, Minako Kotobuki as Saya Sōgetsu, Rika Tachibana as Code Omega 77 Stella, Yūka Aisaka as Miumi Hinata, Mai Ishihara as Sofina, Yoshiko Ikuta as Ruby, Rie Takahashi as Code Omega 00 Yufilia, Nozomi Yamamoto as Mayuka Sanagi and Yukari Tamura as Amane Ayashiro.

The property is one that has been popular for a few years, though less through Western audiences, as it’s got a manga already running from Mako Kamao and Sakaki Yoshioka. The opening theme for the series is “Love is MY RAIL” by Konomi Suzuki while the ending theme is “Link with U” by L.I.N.K.s.

Plot concept: The story of the card game follows what happens when “Hairou” portals suddenly open, fusing three different worlds together. As a result, various mysterious “Exceed” powers are awakened in teenaged girls. An academy for these so-called “Progress” girls is built on the isolated Seiran Island in the Pacific.
