Aniplex USA is going big with one of the two-cour shows that’s out there with Asterisk War. The first cour has now gotten its marching orders for the home video release this fall and it’s also been revealed that we’ll be getting an English dub with it as well. The set is coming with both limited and standard edition forms that you can see the breakdowns for below, as well as the cover artwork for the domestic releases. The property comes from the light novel series The Asterisk War: The Academy City of the Water (Gakusen Toshi Asterisk). Written by Yuu Miyazaki, with art by illustrator okiura, so far ten volumes of the light novel “academy battle” action series have been published in Japan, through Media Factory.

The anime series is produced by A-1 Pictures. Staff involved include chief director Manabu Ono (The Irregular at Magic High School), director Kenji Seto (Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth Life), with character design and animation direction by Tetusya Kawakami (Nanana’s Buried Treasure), and music by Rasmus Faber (Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne).
Plot concept: Amagiri Ayato arrives at The Academy City on water, Rikka—famous for the integrated battle entertainment, “Star Wars Festival”—at the invitation of the Student Council President of the Seidoukan Academy, Claudia. Soon after he incurs the wrath of the “Petalblaze Witch”, Julis, and ends up in a duel with her.
