1 min read

Kemji KawaiIf you’ve watched some of the most popular anime films and shows out there, you’ve been exposed to the music of Kenji Kawai. The prolific and influential composer is the subject of the latest “toco toco” program which is aired on French and US cable tv, and Youtube. In this show, Japan creators show us places they like in Japan and speak about their activity.

Kawai is the composer of dozens of soundtracks of anime, movies, dramas and games such as Ghost in the Shell, Avalon, Ranma 1/2, Ring series, IP Man, Apocalypse documentaries and much much more. Clocking in at fifteen minutes, it’s a pretty good piece that lets Kawai really talk about his passion and what it means to him while touching on some of the bigger works of his career. It’s also a good way to get a look at more of Japan itself that you don’t always see, which is always engaging and illuminating.
