Shonen HollywoodWith a North American release coming up soon from Funimation, Madman Entertainment has announced the acquisition of the Australian rights for Shonen Hollywood. The first season series release is slated for an August 3rd, 2016 release in the region and will mirror the Funimation release in that it’s a subtitled-only release. It’s making out a bit worse than the Funimation release, however, as it’s getting done as a DVD-only release whereas the North American release will be dual format. Madman’s release will be priced at $59.95 and will have the thirteen episodes spread across two discs. No extras are listed at the moment.

The series is part of a multimedia project that involves the novel, the anime adaptation and an idol project as well. The series is set to take place after the novel. The production brings Toshimasa Kuroyoanagi to directed based on scripts by original creator Ikuyo Hashiguchi and character designs by Kei Tsuchiya. With Starchild behind the project, we get studio Zexcs providing the animation for it.

Plot concept: These boys won’t stop till they make it to the top! Fifteen years ago, the legendary idol group Shonen Hollywood stole the hearts of thousands adoring fans. Their performance at the famous Hollywood Tokyo Theater is the stuff of legend, and now a new group of boys is determined to become the next generation of this famed super group.
