Warner Bros. Japan is working a little extra promotion for the upcoming Terra Formars live-action feature film that’s due out on April 29th, 2016. With the new anime season kicking off and the manga doing solid numbers with compiled volumes, the film now has its first clip out from Cinema Today that gives us some time with God Lee getting into the thick of things.
The original work comes from the manga by Kenichi Tachibana and Yu Sasuga and the film is going to be interesting with Takashi Miike set to helm it. The adaptation comes after the OVA and TV series for the property that dealt with different aspects over the overall arc of the film. It was filmed in Japan and Iceland.
The anime adaptation was produced at LIDEN FILMS with Hiroshi Hamasaki directing based on scripts by Shogo Ysukawa. Character designs were done by Masanori Shino while Satoshi Kimura did secondary character design work.
Proprerty concept: With Earth becoming increasingly overpopulated, an ambitious plan has been put into place to terraform Mars using mold and cockroaches. Nearly 500 years after the plan, a mission to Mars, Annex 1, is under way to accomplish crucial research into the Virus currently plaguing mankind with the crew members who’ve been injected with various DNA of life on Earth in order to combat the Terraformars, giant humanoid cockroaches.
