The release plans for the Digimon Adventure Tri series of films continues on now that the second one has arrived in Japan. With that and the staff and cast out doing premiere work, it was revealed that the third chapter will arrive on September 24th, 2016. With Crunchyroll bringing out the features here just as they land in Japan, we’re hoping for the same with this one. Based on comments from the actors, they’re expecting the third chapter to be a bit more mellow than this second chapter.
The second installment landed in Japan with a theatrical release on March 12th, 2016 with its home video release coming coming up on April 2nd, 2016.
Plot concept: It’s been six years since that summer adventure when Taichi “Tai” Yagami and the rest of the DigiDestined crossed over to the Digital World. And nearly three years have passed since the final battle between Hikari Yagami’s group and BelialVamdemon. As the peaceful days passed by, at some point the gate to the Digital World closed. Not even the DigiDestined know what caused this, and time alone continues to pass.
On one such day, a Kuwagamon suddenly appears in Odaiba. Its rampage leaves the town in ruins, and the people there in turmoil. Taichi happens to catch sight of the Kuwagamon, and he chases after it all by himself in an effort to halt its rampage. But there’s nothing he can do against a Kuwagamon.
