Setting things up last time around for the trio to head to the amusement park, we get to see the they definitely have fun, though there’s a sense that both women wish the other wasn’t there. So that means some conspiring to make it happen with a far too trusting Wakabayashi. Mioko’s certainly on her game here as she tries to get Hige on the ferris wheel, but the draw of marshmallows is what wins out in the end – and Wakabayashi knows he’s like a bee to the flower with it. For Mioko, it reinforces that she’s just not in the same league as her in going after Hige and there’s some surprisingly nice and sweet moments that comes from her supposedly giving up. Of course, there has to be a twist and the way it plays out is just perfect in seeing Wakabayashi cutting loose in a big way on her over it.

In Summary:
Ojisan and Marshmallow is basically looking to put Wakabayashi through a big series of hurdles, which we knew from the start. I liked it when it was more just the interplay between the two, especially as Mioko felt like a bit much, but it worked out well in the end. With the new reveals that we get here there’s certainly plenty of places it can go, but you can also guess the easy outs pretty quickly too. That said, it looks like the final few episodes are in for some good fun for the viewer, some tough times for Wakabayashi, and more marshmallows and obliviousness for Hige.
