The news landed last week that an anime adaptation for Amaama to Inazuma, aka Sweetness and Lightning was coming and now the details have arrived with the magazine arriving in full. First, the official site has now launched and that means we get the first key visual below for the adaptation. The series is planned for a July 2016 debut and the main cast and some of the production side information has been revealed as well.
The series will be directed by Tarou Iwasaki based on composition from Mitsukata Hirota and character designs by Hiroki Harada. It’s being animated at TMS Entertainment.
The main cast includes Yuuichi Nakamura as Kouhei Inuzaka, Rina Endou as Tsumugi Inuzaka and Saori Hayami as Kotori Iida.
Te manga from Gido Amagakure began back in 2013 and will release its sixth volume in March. Kodansha Comics has been releasing the series in North America digitally through their various services.
Plot concept: Having lost his wife, math teacher Kouhei Inuzuka is doing his best to raise his young daughter Tsumugi as a single father. He’s pretty bad at cooking and doesn’t have a huge appetite to begin with, but chance brings his little family and one of his students, Kotori Iida, together for homemade adventures. With those three cooks in the kitchen, it’s no wonder this dinner table drama is so delicious.
