FUNimation’s working the simulcast side with new winter 2016 season anime series Prince of Stride: Alternative and they’ve added the opening sequence to their channel recently. Separating out the openings for quick and easy sharing continues to be a big plus in being able to introduce folks to a show, particularly since they tend to be both catch and high-quality. The opening song for this series comes from OxT with the song Strider’s High, which in a rare change with recent shows has English subtitles.
The series was directed by Atsuko Ishizuka based on the overall series composition from Taku Kishimoto and character designs by Kokunen Ou.

Plot concept: The series is about an extreme form of sport known as “Stride.” It involves 6 players on a team that runs relay races in towns. The story takes place at Honan Academy where first year high school students Takeru Fujiwara and Nana Sakurai try to recruit members for their “Stride” club. They request Riku Yagami to join with the help of Takeru and Nana. Their goal is to compete and win the “End of Summer,” a top competition hosted in Japan alongside other schools.
