The anime adaptation of the Sansha Sanyou manga has a little bit of an update courtesy of the official site as three more actors have boarded the project that’s set to debut this coming spring season. The new additions include:
- Machico as Serina Nishiyama
- Aina Suzuki as Asako Kondō
- Rika Momokawa as Shino Sonobe
The previously revealed cast includes:
- Mai Kanazawa as Futaba Odagir
- Ayaka Imamura as Teru Hayama
- And Yū Wakui as Yoko Nishikawa
The series is scheduled for a spring 2016 debut and will be directed by Yasuhiro Kimura based on the series composition by Hideaki Koyasu and character designs by Jun Yamazaki. It’s being animated by Dogakobo.
The series is based on the work by creator Cherry Arai, who had some good luck last year in having their series Mikakunin de Shinkoukei receiving an anime adaptation. Sansha Sanyou has been serialized in the magazine since 2003.
Plot concept: The series focuses on three hilarious characters; Futaba Odagiri is the new transfer student with a super energetic personality; Teru Hayama is the class president with a surprisingly mean personality contrary to her innocent looks; and Youko Nishikawa is from a formerly rich, now extremely poor family who still holds on to her princess attitude. These three unlikely students with clashing personalities become good friends and survive the day-to-day teenage life in a very funny story.
