Sentai Filmworks has had pieces of the cast for Akame ga KILL! out there for awhile due to the broadcast of it, and with the home video release in some reviewers hands at the moment (like ours, to be posted on Thursday!), the details are all there. So they’ve now put out the full list ahead of the release on February 9th, 2016 of the first half of the series. The show is directed by Kyle Jones.

The series adapted the manga of the same name by Tetsuya Takahiro that began in 2010 and has over nine volumes to its name so far. The anime has Tomoki Kobayashi directing working off of scripts by Makoto Ueze while Kazuhisa Nakamura handled the character designs. The show was animated by White Fox. Sora Amamiya performed the opening theme while Miku Sawai performed the ending theme song.
In the Japanese version, Sora Amamiya plays the lead, Yuu Asakawa as Leone and stars with Soma Saito as Tatsumi, Katsuyuki Konishi as Braht, Yukari Tamura as Mein, Risa Mizuno as Najenda, Mamiko Noto as Schere, Satomi Akesaka as Esdese and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Rabac.
Plot Concept: Under the rule of a tyrannical empire, Tatsumi, a young swordsman, leaves his home to save his poverty stricken village. He meets a girl named Akame, an assassin who was bought, brainwashed and trained to kill by the Empire. Akame is a member of the secret assassin group called “Night Raid” who use special weapons called Teigu. Together, Tatsumi and the members of Night Raid confront the corrupt empire.
