Naruto Shikimaru's Story CoverViz Media is looking to raise a little attention for a new book out next week that feels a bit under the radar with the February 2nd, 2016 release of Naruto: Shikamaru’s Story. The latest of the prose Naruto novels to make its way out here, it’s getting both a print and digital release at the same time – which is very welcome for novels, an area that continues to struggle to get digital rights in many cases. The book comes from author Takashi Yano and will be priced at $10.99 for print and $6.99 for digital while featuring an original cover from original creator Masashi Kishimoto.

Plot concept: Two years after the Great Ninja War, Shikamaru spends his days racing around, hands full as one of Konoha’s key protectors. Then, large numbers of ninja from every region are reported missing. Even Sai disappears. And the place where the missing shinobi end up is the mysterious empire, the Land of Silence. As a ninja, as an adult, to protect all that he is responsible for, Shikamaru must do battle with the shadow of a new generation.
