The nominations are coming out this morning for the 88th Oscars that will be broadcast on February 28th, 2016 and the animation category has arrived. This one is definitely a good one for anime fans this year as the film When Marnie Was There has made the list.

Based on the novel by Joan G. Robinson, When Marnie WasThere is the latest film from Studio Ghibli, and the second feature film by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, the director of The Secret World of Arrietty.

Plot concept: Sent from her foster home in the city one summer to a sleepy town by the sea in Hokkaido, Anna dreams her days away among the marshes.
