The final installment of Akito the Exiled as part of the Code Geass franchise is still a bit away but now Bandai Visual is streaming the first big promotional video for the fifth chapter of the OVA Series that also gets a theatrical release. The official site updated earlier this year to reveal that the premiere for it has been bumped to February 6th, 2016, where it’ll bring the OVA project to a close. That’ll have it taking approximately four years from start to finish for the series to be released.
The show has been picked up for release in North America by FUNimation and has been licensed in Australia by Madman. The original series was licensed in North America by Bandai Entertainment but has fallen out of print since the closure of the company. FUNimation picked up the rights to both properties back in the summer of 2013.
Plot concept: The story takes place in Europe in the year a.t.b. 2017. A Knightmare unit made of boys and girls from Area Eleven are thrown into a military operation with a 5% chance of survival. They must rescue an allied unit left behind on the European war front.
