Viz Media Talks Upcoming ‘Honey So Sweet’ Manga Release

Honey So Sweet Volume 1 CoverBeing fans of a lot of shojo manga and what little shojo anime gets made, we’re keen to see how this new series from Viz Media works out with the January 5th, 2016 debut of Honey So Sweet. The book is kicking off the year for the Shojo Beat brand as it brings newcomer manga creator Amu Meguro on board with ths new work in English for the first time.

“Enchanting, fanciful artwork and an endearing ensemble cast make HONEY SO SWEET a special new series for our readers,” says Nancy Thistlethwaite, Senior Editor. “Amu Meguro is a talented new force on the shojo manga scene and fans will not want to miss the debut of this heartwarming romance.”

The teen rated series is getting a price of $9.99 U.S. / $12.99 CAN and will be available in both print and digital form through the VIZ Manga App, as well as from the Nook, Kobo, Kindle, iBooks, comiXology, and GooglePlay stores. The publisher will be bringing out new volumes on a quarterly basis.

After getting her debut done with the one-shot manga, A Kiss for a Bright Red Apple, this new series is currently serialized in the Japanese shojo manga magazine Bessatsu Margaret.

Plot concept: Little did Nao Kogure realize that back in middle school when she left an umbrella and a box of bandages in the rain for injured delinquent Taiga Onise she would meet him again in high school. Nao wants nothing to do with the gruff and frightening Taiga, but he suddenly presents her with a huge bouquet of flowers and asks her to date him – with marriage in mind! Is Taiga really so scary, or is he a sweetheart in disguise?
