As we move into the second half of the series now, Doamayger-D has to start doing a bit more than just having fun. Well, it could, but if it wants to hold our attention more it needs to add a little more. This one brings the “dart gun” guy into the pciture more clearly as Daijirou discovers him outside the restaurant and gives chase as he has his own giant robot. This leads to a hilarious fight in the city in true 60’s and 70’s style with how it looks, but the reveal itself is wonderfully campy and hilarious. It’s a great showdown that’s set up by it all yet it has that odd pacing about it as it’s a fight delayed for the future. Still, any tease of new information is wonderfully welcome.
In Summary:
Though the bulk of the episode is a heck of a lot of fun, the arrival of a specially designed plane at the end kind of just wins the day. It’s spot-on priceless and hilarious and makes the rest of the episode irrelevant overall. Great stuff through and through once again.
