Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
With the origin story out of the way last time, this one deals with a new monster ravaging the city of Kyoto. That has Daijirou again coming to the rescue in the way that only he can. Half the fun is just listening to our reporter talk about what’s going on and the other being seeing the way that Daijirou deals with situations in a short amount of time. Since he’s a confectioner, that means coming up with a new food that will boost him up and defeat said creature. There’s a fun little dish that’s made here with a little history to it, but it’s all set to the action of really old school robot action. it’s so ridiculous that you really do feel very at home with it if you have any experience with this original generation of anime.

In Summary:
While I continue to enjoy Doamayger-D for several reasons, it’s a show that I also can’t quite figure out. It’s a real passion project to be sure with what it’s doing as they pay homage to the past in a great way while also delivering something delicious in terms of the animation. It’s a hard sell with its run time and the quickness it doles out information and action, but I can’t help but to be strangely delighted by it once more as Daijirou deals with these mysterious enemies.
