‘Divine Gate’ Anime Cast Expands

Divine Gate VisualWe got a few details about the winter 2016 series Divine Gate at the end of September, fleshing out the cast and the staff a bit ahead of its January 2016 debut. Now that the feeding frenzy of the fall season has settled, the production has now debuted list of several more actors taking part in the show in supporting roles. The show is set to be animated at Studio Pierrot with Noriyuki Abe directing based on series composition from Natsuko Takahashi and character designs by Ichirou Ozawa.

Newly added to the roster are:

  • Kouji Yusa as Loki
  • Akira Ishida as Oz
  • Kousuke Toriumi as Lancelot
  • Ami Koshimizu as Ifrit
  • Mai Fuchigami as Undine
  • Kana Asumi as Sylph
  • Yuri Yoshida as Metabon

Previously announced cast includes:

  • Tetsuya Kakihara as Akane
  • Soma Saito as Aoto
  • Kanae Itou as Midori
  • Ayana Taketatsu as Hikari
  • Sora Amamiya as Yukari
  • Hiroyuki Yoshino as Ginji
  • Yuuichi Nakamura as Arthur

Plot concept: When the Divine Gate opened, the living world, the heavens, and the underworld became connected, ushering an era of chaos where desires and conflict intersect. To restore order, the World Council is formed. As peace is restored, the Divine Gate becomes an urban legend. In that world, boys and girls deemed fit by the World Council are gathered. They are ones who aim to reach the gate for their personal objectives. Those who reach the gate can remake the world. What lies beyond the gate? When they reach the door, will the world change? Will it be the past that changes, or will it be the future?
