FUNimation Adds ‘Heavy Object’ For Fall 2015 Anime Lineup

Heavy ObjectThe anime adaptation of Kazuma Kamachi’s Heavy Object light novel series has landed istelf a home on FUNimation has a series page for it has now gone live ahead of the Japanese broadcast. The series recently got its October 3rd, 2015 Japanese premiere date and it was revealed that the show is planned for two cour, twenty-four episodes. Which means a lot of material coming up for fans to dig into with it.

Heavy Object is set to be directed by Takashi Watanabe with Chikara Sakura serving as the assistant director and Hiroyuki Yoshino handling the series composition. Character designs are being done by Atsuko Watanabe with animation produced at JC Staff.

The series began in 2009 and has had nine volumes published so far and the release of the most recent volume this past April. A brief manga run was done back in 2009 that ran for two years and then a second manga adaptation kicked off in 2011 that also ran for two years. Unsurprisingly, a new manga adaptation is in the works.

The anime adaptation was announced at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival last October. The series will star Natsuki Hanae as Quenser, Kaito Ishikawa as Heivia, Shizuka Itou as Major Floretia Capistrano and Eri Suzuki as Milinda.

Plot concept: Quenser came to the Alaskan military base to study Objects, the new weapons that have completely revolutionized war as we know it—battles are fought by soldiers controlling Objects far away from harm; however, when he starts to get close to Object pilot Milinda, will he discover the grim truth behind Heavy Objects?
