Possible ‘Tiger & Bunny’ Anime Continuation Teased

We can put this in the “I want to believe!” rumor category and pin some real hope on it. The two part concert performance this past weekend for The Sound of Tiger & Bunny did have a brief new anime short within it to keep fans happy beyond just the fantastic score of the show, but it’s what happened after the show that has some fans very hopefully. The official Twitter feed provided an English language tweet, a rarity in itself, that the T&B Project will be continued. The basic assumption is that we might get the concert performance done in North America at some point as the films did well enough here with their limited engagements and that more of this might work – especially in a convention circuit. But, the way it’s worded also has a number of fans hopeful that it means another full animation project could be in the works.

The series is one that really, really, needs to be gotten out more here on something like Toonami where it feels a far better fit than some other shows, especially since it’s the most Western of superhero-designed anime series out there.

Viz Media has released the manga in North America as well as the TV series and the two anime feature films.

Property concept: Sternbild City is home to people called “Next,” who use their special abilities to protect the people as superheroes. These heroes solve cases and save lives so they can wear sponsor logos or acquire “hero points.” Their activities are documented on the popular program “Hero TV,” which picks the “King of Heroes” in a yearly ranking. The veteran hero Wild Tiger has always preferred to work alone, but now he’s been assigned the rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr., who has a different perspective on being a superhero.

  1. Believe! Still hoping for an eventual 2nd season. In one of the interviews on the blu-ray release of the 2nd film, the director(?) stated that there was a definite probability that it could happen. Absolutely loved the show and movies to bits definitely need more of this in my life.
