The latest rankings from Japan are here with what’s selling in the Blu-ray and DVD markets for anime and there’s good news and bad news, depending on the shows you’re interested in. For those that enjoy Blood Blockade Battlefront and Sound! Euphonium, both series have done well with their fourth volumes and take the top two spots. The fourth Show by Rock!! also did pretty well this week coming in at fifth.
On the new side, there are a number of things that have landed for first volumes, Monster Musume hits the 5k mark between the two forms while Non Non Biyori Repeat performs about as expected. Himout! Umaru-chan does a bit better than I thought it, though it’s dicey as to whether it can make it to a second season. On the bad side for new titles, Rokka no Yuusha debuts at 16th with under 600 units moved and Wakaba Girl lands at 12th with just over 1,000. About as expected for both titles for various reasons, though with the praise that Rokka gets there had been hope that it would be higher. The fifth Akatsuki no Yona also landed during this period and while it plugs away, it’s still certainly struggling with 1,100 Blu-ray units out there.
