Dark Horse Comics has picked up the rights to release the manga series that was created for Danganronpa and has announced the release dates for all four volumes. The series is set to launch on March 16th, 2016 and will run quarterly until the final volume on March 22nd, 2017. The manga was Inspired by the video game series of the same name and is also based on the anime of the same name. FUNimation has the anime rights and are releasing it here using the cast from the game, allowing all of this to tie in nicely and making the manga a welcome addition to the property overall.

Plot concept: Each year, the elite Hope’s Peak Academy selects only the most gifted and talented students to enroll…plus one ordinary student, chosen by lottery. Makoto Naegi is that lucky person—or so he thought! When he shows up for class, he finds the elite students are a bizarre cast of oddballs under the ruthless authority of a robot teddy bear principal, Monokuma. The bear lays down the school rules: the only way out of Hope’s Peak is to not only murder another student…but get away with it, as every murder is followed by a tribunal where the surviving students cross-examine each other!
