With the fall debut of Noragami Aragoto so close that the fans can taste it, details of the premiere have finally arrived with the latest Monthly shonen Magazine. The new issue has revealed that the series will arrive on October 3rd at 25:05 for fans via Tokyo MX and rolling out from there to other networks and satellite services over the next few days.
The marketing campaign for this show has been good as we’ve had a regular, steady stream of reveals for the series with cast announcements in the last few weeks and thre recent debut of a new promotional video. That promotional video arrived alongside the announcement that The Oral Cigarettes will be performing the opening theme for it while Tia will be doing the ending them. The promo highlights the opening theme throughout it, which certainly sets the energy for it alongside some gorgeous looking visuals.
The show will be directed by Kotaro Tamura based on scripts by Deko Akao along with character designs by Toshihiro Kawamoto. BONES handled the animation production for it.
The season is set to work the Biashamon arc of the manga which focuses on the war god of the same name.
The series stars Hiroshi Kamiya as Yato, Maaya Uchida as Hiyori Iki, Yuuki Kaji as Yukine, Miyuki Sawashiro as Bishamon, Jun Fukuyama as Kazuma, Aki Toyosaki as Kofuku, Daisuke Ono as Daikoku, Toru Ohkawa as Tenjin, Asami Imai as Mayu, Rie Kugimiya as Nora, Hisako Tojo asAiha, Takanori Hoshino asKugaha and Ryotaro Okiayu as Ebisu.
The first season of the series was picked up for North American release by FUNimation at the end of 2014 and they released it in the summer of 2015 in DVD/BD combo form. Check out our review of it here.
Plot concept: Yato may just be a minor god now, but he’s determined to make it big and he’s got a plan. Unfortunately, things just don’t seem to be going his way. He doesn’t have a single shrine dedicated to him, his partner has just quit, and now he’s got to find a new divine weapon. Just when things look bleak, he meets a girl named Hiyori and changes her life forever.
Another one to check out. Man, I wish they had a subtitled trailer for this one, it looks to have potential.
