2 min read

Tokyo Ghoul HibiIt continues to be a good time to be a fan of this property as it’s been revealed in the newest Young Jump magazine that Shuu Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul property has another anime adaptation coming. This one is working off of the novel Tokyo Ghoul: Hibi, which was written by Shin Towada and will be called Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto. The book basically gave us some short stories that deals with the daily lives of the ghouls and people that exist in the larger framework. The anime adaptation, whose team has not been announced, will be working off of the third story in it that revolves around how Shuu and Chie met prior to the main storyline. The project is being done as a single episode OVA that will be released on December 25th, 2016.

The OVA is being directed by Tadahito Matsubayashi based on the script from Soichi Shimada and it’s being animated by Studio Pierrot. It’s been revealed that Mamoru Miyano will return to play Shuu in the OVA but a voice actress for Chie will be revealed at a later date.

Property concept: Strange murders are happening in Tokyo. Due to liquid evidence at the scene, the police conclude the attacks are the results of “eater” type ghouls. College buddies Kaneki and Hide come up with the idea that ghouls are imitating humans so that’s why they haven’t ever seen one. Little did they know that their theory may very well become reality.
