FUNimation has made their October solicitations, which have shown up at Right Stuf first, with what to expect from the distributor come October of this year. October is one of those months where some of the “seed” shows are put into play in order to get producing moving for the Christmas season and to get retailers to stock up while people are getting their shopping plans going and as folks make their lists.

So, FUNimation has solicited two titles.

  1. Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero: Complete Collection (S.A.V.E. Edition) (DVD) – 300 minutes – $29.98 – 10/6/15
  2. Fairy Tail, Part 17 (Blu-ray / DVD Combo) – $54.98 – 10/6/15

This is… interesting to say the least. Considering the number of series in the backlog to get done, two releases isn’t a whole lot of whacking away at it. This leads us to speculate as to what’s going on, which of course fans are going to do a whole lot of.  The general and smart consensus is that October is going to be the transitional month with the recent Universal distribution agreement coming into play, so there’s a whole lot of understanding how the whole process works between the two companies. That can make for a light month. It could also mean that we might start seeing announcements by week or biweekly depending on how Universal ends up handling it themselves.

But for right now, we’ve got two releases, one new installment and one SAVE edition on DVD. Which is going to cause some concern in addition to the speculation from the segment of fans that watch and pay attention to these things.

UPDATE:

FUNimation has added three more titles on their site for the month of October with:

  1. Ghost in the Shell Arise Borders 3 & 4 – 116 minutes – $39.98 – 10/13/15
  2. One piece Season 7 voyage 3 – 300 minutes – $39.98 – 10/27/15
  3. Dance in the Vampire Bund DVD SAVE Collection – 300 minutes – $29.98 – 10/27/15

Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero: She’s a pink-haired princess. He’s a panty-snatching perv. After saving a fairy-tale kingdom, Akatsuki returns to the real world with his prize – Miu, the busty daughter of the defeated Demon King. It’s one hell of a happy ending until they’re forced to enroll at a school for magic users. There, Akatsuki can’t keep his hands off the girls, Miu’s constantly ballooning measurements make her a walking wardrobe malfunction, and it seems like someone is always plotting against them.

Fairy Tail: The Grand Magic Games come to an explosive end as the Eclipse Gate opens and the unthinkable happens. Dragons emerge from the gate bent on destroying everything in their path. Dragon slayers will be tested to their very limits and the guilds must band together to fight the most difficult battle they’ve ever faced – unexpected allies appear, and one mage makes the ultimate sacrifice to turn the tide for the mages.

Who is behind the rampaging dragons and what is the dire message he brings? Will what was fated come to pass, or will Natsu burn the terrible prediction to ashes?
