Atsushi Ohkubo has certainly has a decent career when it comes to his manga as Soul Eater and Soul Eater Not! both went over pretty well overall as they received strong worldwide support, anime adaptations for both and a slew of merchandise. With those two series and B.Ichi behind him, he’s taken time to rest and plan out his new series which is beginning in the 43 issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine later this year. The series is called En En no Shobotai, which translates as Fire Brigade of Flames. Only a small image was revelaed for it but it’s one that will certainly be interesting to see how it unfolds.
Plot concept: An unexplainable phenomenon of people bursting into flames assails humanity. Put your life on the line to extinguish the flames! A great conflagration that will shake up the manga world! A sci-fi firefighting battle!
