The debut of Dragon Ball Super set for July 5th, 2015 and as we inch closer, more details are starting to arrive regarding it. After getting the official cast list recently and the first TV spot, there’s now a bit more thanks to early scans of the new V Jump magazine due out this weekend. According to the two page spread there, the series takes place after the Majin Buu fight and ties to the new film, which we new before. The first episode also has its main story themes revealed in the spread, saying:
“After defeating Majin Buu, life is peaceful once again. Ordered by Chi-chi to earn money, Goku works even as he wants to train even more. Meanwhile, Goten, about to become a brother-in-law to Videl, sets out on a journey with Trunks to find her a present.”
Toei Animation announced the series at the end of April, which is coming from a story concept from Akira Toriyama. The debut of the series marks the first new series for the property in eighteen years.

Plot concept: Reuniting the franchise’s iconic characters, Dragon Ball Super will follow the aftermath of Goku’s fierce battle with Majin Buu, as he attempts to maintain earth’s fragile peace. Overseen by Dragon Ball’s original creator, Akira Toriyama and produced with Fuji Television, Dragon Ball Super will draw on its historic past to create a bold, new universe welcoming to fans and endearing to new viewers.
