2 min read

Ultimate Otaku Teacher Hulu HeaderThe spring 2015 anime series Ultimate Otaku Teacher, aka Denpa Kyoushi, is finishing up its first half of the scheduled twenty-four episode run that it has. While it’s had its fun so far, it looks to be expanding things well in the second half as ten more voice actors, some of good note, have now been revealed to have joined the production in an array of roles:

  • Ayahi Takagaki  as Tim Bernards Lynn
  • M.A.O as Madoka Kuramachi
  • Daisuke Namikawa  as Hell Gates
  • Kana Hanazawa  as Reiko Mukyou
  • Aya Hirano  as Yamato Toune
  • Risae Matsuda  as Taki Komiya
  • Satsumi Matsuda  as Nagare Komiya
  • Risa Taneda  as Matome Hishikujo
  • Shiina Natsukawa  as Moemi Kushinada
  • Tomoko Tsuzuki  as Kazuya Momozono

The original work from Takeshi Azuma has had the cast revealed recently and it included a bit of a surprise for many with Rena Matsui being a part of it. The series is directed by Masato Sato based on series composition by Atsushi Maekawa and character designs by Isao Sugimito. The cast includes Hiroshi Kamiya as Junichiro Kagami, Rena Matsui as Suzune Kagami, Sora Amamiya as Minako Kanou, Suzuko Mimori as Koyomi Hiiragi, Saori Onishi as Makina Momozono, Azusa Tadokoro as Kiriko Shikishima, Rina Hidaka as Kanan Chinami, Ayane Sakura as Kisaki Tenjouin and Aki Toyosaki as Koutaro Araki.

The English language cast for the show includes Anthony Bowling as Junichiro Kagami, Mikaela Krantz as Suzune Kagami, Sarah Wiedenheft as Minako Kanou, Jamie Marchi as Miho Kitou and Jad Saxton as Koyomi Hiiragi.

Plot concept: Kagami Junichirou was known as a physics genius when he was a teenager, and he was even published in “Nature.” However, after college, he suddenly lost all interest in science. As a NEET, he’s devoted himself to his anime blog and nerdy collecting habits. He claims he has a serious illness called “I can’t do anything I don’t want to do.” Desperate to get him to do something with his life, his little sister manages to get him a job teaching physics at his old high school. He’s certainly an unconventional teacher, but he becomes fairly popular with the students. After helping a girl who’s being ruthlessly bullied, Kagami finds that he actually likes teaching. Will he continue his career as a weird teacher? Will he go back into physics? Or will he end up back where he started?
