Yumi Nakata’s Okusama ga Seitokaichō!, better known as My Wife Is the Student Council President!, hasn’t had a lot of attention ahead of its summer 2015 debut, but now that we’re moving into the final month before the summer season premieres, a bit more is coming out. The series is getting a twelve episode run that will begin on AT-X on July 1st where each episode will be ten minutes long. It’ll roll out from there to other networks and broadcasters over the next week.
Directed by Hiroyuki Furukawa, it’ll star Ayana Taketatsu as Ui Wakana, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Hayato Izumi, Minami Tsuda as Rin Misumi, Aoi Fujimoto as Ayane Niikura, Yue Sugiyama as Karen Fujisaki, Juri Nagatsuma as Mato Saruwatari and Tomoko Kaneda as Misato Wakana. It’s being animated at studio Seven.
Nakata’s prior work of Chu-Bra previously saw an anime adaptation several years ago.
Plot Concept: The story begins with Izumi Hayato running to be student body president. But when a beautiful girl swings in promising the liberalization of love while flinging condoms into the audience, he ends up losing to her and becoming the vice president. At the student council meeting, the newly-elected president invites herself over to Izumi’s house, where she promptly announces she is to become Izumi’s wife thanks to an agreement – facilitated by alcohol – made between their parents when they were only 3.
