FUNimation’s solicitations for what they’re going to release in August 2015 should be coming relatively soon, and that means it’s a chance to play a bit of a guessing game about it. The company has a lot of shows in the queue that could be sized up for release, including some that got pushed back while others have been tagged with the summer season – of which August definitely is.
First, the planned spring 2015 release of Maken-Ki! Two is potentially on deck, though we didn’t have a firm date for it before beyond the spring season.
Second, the previously announced planned release of Space Dandy with season two and The Future Diary on Blu-ray seem like solid givens, especially to have them as a part of the convention season.
Beyond that? Here’s what the discussion topic of it has so far with notes:
- Ghost in the Shell: Arise borders 3 & 4 | streaming (sub only; dub was scheduled for subscribers)
- Danganronpa: The Animation ; dub cast announced
- Tokyo Ghoul | 2/18/15: confirmed Season 1 was currently dubbing
- FREE! -Eternal Summer- | English cast announced
- Fairy Tail Series 2 | dub streaming scheduled for subscribers (June 30, 2015)
- riddle story of devil | unreleased series announced from Otakon ’14
Series with no clues so far include:
- DAIMIDALER: PRINCE VS. PENGUIN EMPIRE | 2015
- Date A Live II | 2015
- Dragonar Academy | 2015
- selector infected WIXOSS
- Buddy Complex | TBA
- NO-RIN
And those with no time frame attached to them at all:
- PSYCHO-PASS Extended Edition | TBA
- Barakamon | TBA
- Black Butler Book of Circus | TBA
- Sengoku BASARA -End of Judgement-
And a few that are specifically tagged for the fall:
- Brothers Conflict [DVD & BD] | fall 2015
- Terror in Resonance [DVD & BD] | fall 2015
What do you want to have land in August? And are there any DVD only titles that should make the leap to Blu-ray?

I’m curious to know when they’ll go back to some their 90s licences picked up in 2013: Escaflowne and Outlaw Star for example. I’d love to see these titles get a release.
Good. They are preparing Free! Eternal Summer. Thank goodness. I am getting a little impatient. Other than that I can’t wait for Tokyo Ghoul and Date A Live 2. Must have those for sure.
